Butterflies!
Walk through a world of winged wonder - experience native butterfly species in a free-flight butterfly exhibit. Learn about these fragile flyers and the delicate environmental balance on which they rely. Fluttering your way beginning May 26! There is an additional fee to visit the butterfly exhibit. Natural Feeding & Animal Training Demonstrations
Experience animal-feeding demonstrations at various exhibits throughout the Zoo. Take part in keeper talks and get an up-close look at some of the animals from the Zoo's Education Department. (Available through Labor Day) Click here for a complete schedule!

Christmas in July
Now the Zoo is spreading that Yuletide spirit throughout the year with the debut of Christmas in July! Watch some of your favorite Zoo animals open papier-mâché “gifts” stuffed with species-appropriate treats that jolly old St. Nick has left in their habitats. It’s part of the Zoo’s animal enrichment activities, through which the Zoo stimulates the animals’ senses and encourages naturalistic behaviors as the animals interact with their habitats.

Fisher-Price Play Weekend

Fisher-Price® brings their giant Play Space to The Toledo Zoo. It’s a great weekend for children 6 months to 5 years as they explore the coolest new toys, including the newest Fisher-Price Power Wheels™. Kids can also meet Fisher-Price costumed characters Diego (Saturday, July 26 from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.) and Planet Heroes Mars Digger and Earth Ace (Sunday, July 27 from 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)

Americans with Disabilities Information Fair

The Ability Center of Greater Toledo will hold their annual informational fair at the Zoo from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Approximately 90 area organizations will be on hand with information on a wide range of services and products available to individuals with disabilities. For more information, contact the Ability Center at 419-88-5733.

Arts Gone Wild
Celebrate Toledo's artisitc instincts at Arts Gone Wild! This four-day summer festival is a safari exploring the diverse "species" of cultural offerings indigenous to this region. Experience Toledo's cultural treasures including many local artists, along with interactive and participatory activities. Learn more about the organizations participating and to sign up for e-news alerts. All activities are free with your paid admission.

Prowl around the Zoo and discover:

  • Elephant painting demonstrations each day (Watch a video)
  • Signature performances by the Toledo Ballet, the Toledo Opera, the Toledo Repertoire Theatre and the Toledo Symphony
  • Musical performances by Toledo School for the Arts students
  • Hands-on activities and artist demonstrations from the Toledo Museum of Art
  • Nature talks led by the Metroparks-Toledo Area
  • Storytelling and puppet shows by the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library
  • A community art project by the Arts Commissino of Greater Toledo

Rock n Roar
Join us for a roaring good time with live music from some of the area's best country, '80s and disco bands after the Zoo closes for the day. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
