“Hortus Mustus –
Plants You Gotta Have!” – Dr. Laura Deeter
Want to make your garden the envy of the neighborhood? Look
to some of the more underused herbaceous plants. Add interest
and explore the world of color, texture, sun, and shade with
plants not often found in the average garden. Not only are
they seldom seen, they are easy to propagate. With a little
skill, knowledge and enthusiasm, you will soon be starting
plants from cuttings of your own.
1:00-2:00
“Getting the Most Out of Herbaceous Plants” –
Dr. Laura Deeter
Looking for ways to get more “bang for your buck”
from annuals and perennials? Learn how to save time and extend
the bloom period by selecting suitable plants and using proper
horticultural techniques. Whether they are self-seeding annuals
or hardy perennials, create a flowering showpiece that will
last throughout the season and at the same time make for easy
garden maintenance.
Dr. Laura Deeter is an Associate Professor of Horticulture
at The Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute
(ATI), where she teaches horticulture and landscape design.
2:30-3:30

even a small space into a productive vegetable garden. It’s
not as hard as you think, and it’s fun for the entire
