The Toledo Zoo would like to thank the Lucas County voters for their support of the Zoo's 2006 Capital Levy,
which provided the primary funding for Nature's Neighborhood.

Nature’s Neighborhood is more than just our new children’s zoo—it’s a complete re-imagining of what a children’s zoo can be!

Imagine a place that’s 100% explore-able, where something new and exciting awaits you around every turn. Imagine a place where kids can discover the natural world as they do what they do best—play! It’s all here at Nature’s Neighborhood—open year-round and free with your regular Toledo Zoo admission.

Get to know a goat or a guinea pig. Encounter exotic birds and even insects. Watch them in action and even play along. Kids will have so much fun at Nature’s Neighborhood that they might not even realize they are learning!

Here’s just some of what’s waiting for you at Nature’s Neighborhood today!

Home Sweet Home:
Get in touch with a guinea pig, learn about pet care, and even make yourself over as your favorite animal!

The Play Stream:
Go ahead—splash and play in an actual stream! Zoo staffers will be there to guide play and keep things safe. Plus, walk the sandy beach and make animal tracks!

The Forest:
Climb like a spider, buzz like a bee, and follow leafcutter ants in this amazing recreation of a woodland setting!

The Backyard:
Take part in animal tracking activities or just watch birds at the feeder!

The Goat Yard:
Interact with helmeted guinea fowl and get to know a goat. You can even brush the goats if you’d like!

Tree House & Climbing Wall
Get a bird's eye view of Nature's Neighborhood from our tree house or test your climbing skills on the rock climbing wall!

Visit the Home Sweet Home kitchen to make a treat you can take home for your pet
Stop by the Workshop located by the Forest for fun learning activities
