This is a brief overview of the Gift Shop Volunteer Program. If you have any questions, please call the Volunteer Department at (419)385-5721 ext. 2045 or email us at volunteer@toledozoo.org.
Program Description
Gift Shop Volunteers support our Merchandise Department in several ways:
- Driving motorized scooters from one side of the Zoo to the other, as needed, to meet the needs of our guests
- Wiping down wagons, strollers, wheelchairs, and scooters as they are returned to the gift shop areas
- Floating in busy areas, picking up fallen items and keeping the shelves and displays looking nice
- Stocking new items and assisting with displays, as directed by merchandise staff
- Answering guest questions and helping them find items of interest
Training
Gift Shop Volunteers will be given an orientation regarding general Zoo policies, as well as the benefits of volunteering at the Toledo Zoo. Volunteers will be trained for specific gift shop tasks by merchandise department staff.
Time Commitment
Gift Shop Volunteers are required to:
- Serve 2 – 3 hours/week during the peak Zoo seasons; evening hours may be available but are not required
- Scheduling can be flexible and tailored to help everyone be successful
Thank you for your interest in the Gift Shop Volunteer Program!
We look forward to seeing you around the Zoo!
