Sept. 4
Join our Wild Toledo biologist as they discuss native landscaping and release migratory Monarch butterflies for their journey to over-wintering grounds in Mexico. Meet at the Conservatory in the gardens at 11 a.m.

Sept. 11
60+ Safari: Toledo Zoo and the Area Office on Aging of Northwest Ohio offer a fun day focused on seniors, including health screenings, entertainment, safety tips and Zoo exploration! As an optional extra, enjoy lunch in the Malawi Event Center; purchase lunch tickets in advance by contacting the Area Office on Aging at 419-382-0624.

Sept. 18
Win great “ZOO-venirs” as we present BINGO with a Zoo twist! Games in the Malawi Event Center, 10:30 a.m. to noon. Limited capacity, first come, first serve.
Plus, our partners from Medical Mutual will be here amplifying the day with a special experience!

Sept. 25
Enjoy a guided tour of the Zoo’s WPA Reptile House. Get a special behind the scenes, close-up view of the Zoo’s vast reptile collection. Meet in the Reptile House at 11 a.m.

October Events

Oct. 2
Fall brings a bounty of activity in the gardens! Come learn about some out favorite autumnal plant highlights and what it takes for the horticulture staff to get the gardens ready for winter. Meet at the Conservatory in the gardens at 11 a.m.

Also, enjoy the delightful melodies of Sweet Adelines International Pride of Toledo Chorus as they serenade us at noon in the ProMedica Museum’s Great Hall and then stroll Zoo grounds.

Oct. 9
Check out the big band sounds of Jeff McDonald’s Swingmania Orchestra. Concert from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Malawi Event Center.

Oct. 16
Join us for a guided tour of the award-winning Aviary, home to birds from across the world, tamarins, sloths and more! Meet in the Aviary at 11 a.m.

Oct. 23

Explore the mysteries beneath the water in the renovated WPA-era Aquarium during a Keeper talk and Q & A with the Aquarium staff. Meet in the Aquarium at 11 a.m.

For groups of 10 or more, please pre-register with the Zoo's Visitor's Services Department by calling 419-389-6561 prior to your visit. This applies only to professional caregivers; regular admission rates will apply for volunteers and relatives of visiting seniors.
