60+ Safari: Toledo Zoo and the Area Office on Aging of Northwest Ohio offer a fun day focused on seniors, including health screenings, safety tips and Zoo exploration! As an optional extra, enjoy lunch and entertainment in the Malawi Event Center; purchase lunch tickets in advance by contacting the Area Office on Aging at 419-382-0624 or areaofficeonaging.com/events.
Sept. 23
Closed for renovations for a year and a half, tour our reimagined, WPA-era Reptile House with our Herpetology team. The building underwent modern enhancements and immersive guest experiences, featuring expanded exhibits, a new underwater viewing for Baru, our giant saltwater crocodile and diverse new residents. Meet at the Reptile House at 11 a.m.
Also, enjoy the delightful melodies of Sweet Adelines International Pride of Toledo Chorus as they serenade us at noon in the Great Hall of the ProMedica Museum of Natural History.
Sept. 30
Check out the big band sounds of Jeff¬ McDonald’s Swingmania Orchestra. Concert from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Malawi Event Center.

Explore the mysteries beneath the waves in our majestic, WPA-era Aquarium. Immerse yourself in the wonder of 3,000+ aquatic animals in 178,000 gallons of water during a Keeper talk and Q & A with the Aquarium staff. Meet in the Aquarium at 11 a.m.
Note: Caregivers who are directly responsible for assisting seniors during Senior Discovery Days are eligible for free Zoo admission. Please pre-register with the Zoo’s Visitor Services Department by calling 419-389-6561 before your visit. This applies only to professional caregivers; regular admission rates apply for volunteers and relatives of visiting seniors.
